2016 NFL Draft – Analysis Preview and Mock Draft 1.0

2016 NFL Draft – Analysis Preview and Mock Draft 1.0

With our position reviews wrapped up and the Free Agency Analysis out it is time to start taking a look at the 2016 NFL Draft. This year we are going to be looking at mock drafts for both the 1st Round for the league, and the entire draft for the Seahawks. We will also have some top players and players to watch for each position group.

That being said, let’s take a minute to look at the pieces of information we’ll be looking at and what types of information we can get from them.

GAME TAPE and NFL COMBINE

As the amateur scout that we all are, this is one part of the tool bag that we all have access to and can check up on our own. YouTube contains a small library of tape on all the top guys, and even a bit on the lesser know players. Throw in access to combine measurements on NFL.com and the detailed writeups and interviews around the College All-Star games and you can find out a lot. If you find yourself curious about any of these players I really recommend you taking a look.

TEAM NEEDS

Team needs are one of those things that we always like to speculate on but never really know. Just taking a look at our own Seattle Seahawks we would safely say that there is big need on Offensive Line, correct? Well, where on the line? Does the front office now see Lewis as the answer at Center? How do they replace Okung? Does Glowinski answer part of that question?

Team needs are a giant puzzle that is always changing. I’ve gone ahead and listed a few that seem likely, but that never really tells you who they are going to pick or what the team truly requires. I mean, the New York Giants didn’t know they needed another pass rusher until July last season.
